Reforestation should become a part of our culture ... A crucial part of our rebuilding process
The Reforest Lebanon Association started cooperating with local communities, municipalities, and other NGOs across the country in order to localize and study those endangered high-risk forests, and to derive a concrete plan for a feasible reforestation.
Planned Reforestation Projects
Project 1- Establishing two nurseries Project 2- Spreading awareness Project 3- Reforestation of the Holy Valley of Qadisha Project 4- Extending the old forest of the 'Cedars of God' in north Lebanon Project 5- Reforestation of 100 hectares in a burnt forest in central Lebanon Project 6- Reforestation of 100 hectares in a burnt Pine forest in south Lebanon Project 7- Adopt a tree
Two tree-nurserires are planned to be established in the north and in the south of Lebanon. These nurseries should provide us with sufficient trees for our reforestation campaigns throughout the country. Cedars, Pine, Cypress and other Firs are the main focus of these nurseries.
Project 2 - Spreading awareness
A public bookshelf is planned to spread knowlege and awareness. It is free-of-charge, 24/24 open library for all citizens and guests of a certain village/city. Its aim is simply to spread awareness about serious environmental problems that the city/village is facing and provides solutions to these problems.
The Reforest Lebanon association planned to place 100 units of this Bookshelf at 100 selected cities and villages across Lebanon. These cities are chosen to have environmentally degraded conditions.

"The following pictures were taken on the first of February 2011 in the Qadisha valley on the road from our Lady of Hawka to Saint Marina Blawza. To save our valley from becoming an arid ground, we have to act now. In just a small zone, we were able to count more than one hundred cut down trees. One can easily see that thousands of trees have been cut down in the last few years." [Reference: Mr. Bachir Maroun email: firstname.lastname@example.org]
